   It is my pleasure and honor to invite you to take part in the Bucharest International Students Model United Nations – a truly interesting initiative which will take place in the beautiful city of Bucharest in the end of March 2011. At BISMUN 2011 we will combine our efforts under the idea to unite the knowledge and improve the skills we possess.

   The fact that we share a common destiny in securing a better future for ourselves and the ones we care about is part of the global idea to bring betterment to all of mankind. This can only be understood through our personal appreciation of the equal worth of every human being.

The World, represented through the United Nations strives for the betterment of all its members, thus, the world can be viewed as one big family - working for a common goal with all its members.

More than ever before, we now face the asymmetrical challenges of tomorrow – an uncertain tomorrow with unknown obstacles in our path. However, we all do realize the pressing importance of one critical necessity – the need for development. Development is the process when a great idea is implemented and put into action. It is worth marking that no great idea has been marked with the etiquette “great” only because it was born. All the ideas that are great have been on first place implemented and upon their success their true greatness had been confirmed. Here it is vital to remember that an idea is always a successful one… all it takes an idea to truly achieve the rank “GREAT” is people, who are ready to implement it in the right way. This is valid also for the United Nations’ ideas. Nobody talks eagerly for the thousands of brave men and women who struggle to achieve different humane causes… your causes – the ideas of the United Nations… the ideas of the Peoples.

The focus of all doings should be mankind. All that matters is the people. The United Nations is our one great hope for a peaceful and free world in support of the people of the World. We the Peoples of the World have the same dreams. Achieving part of them is not a thing we can order online, buy in a shop or inherit. The ability to achieve the ideas we aim for, is the skill to be the change you want to see. The World and its structures need a change. We all need to develop – to put ideas into practice and eventually have the ability to rank the ideas with the label “Great”. Let’s make it happen.

I will conclude by expressing my gratitude for your willingness to become part of the Model United Nations spirit. Your involvement will truly put another great brick in the wall of people who support the good ideas and work for them. The ideas and their implementers need to know that The People are behind them. Development can continue at BISMUN 2011. Let’s do it together.
