In a few words, the European Council is the leading, guideline-tracing political institution of the European Union. Representatives of the governments of each member state gather to discuss and adopt important decisions coordinating with the European Parliament, which have a strong impact not only at an international level, but also on the EU citizens’ lives. There are ten Council configurations, each of which is attended by a different representative of the government and focuses on different affairs, such as the Foreign Affairs Council or the EcoFin Council. The general guidelines are traced by the General Affairs Council, which also ensures the proper running and coordination of all the other Councils.

Octav Dragoi

My name is Octav Dragoi, I am currently 18 years old and in 12th grade at the International Computer Highschool of Bucharest. I usually focus on mathematics, but I got the taste of the MUN’s a few years ago, even though apparently they have nothing to do with exact studies.

I have the honor of being your Chairperson for the European Council at BISMUN 2012, and I look forward to meet you there. We will make sure that everything runs smoothly, while, of course, having fun :)

The truth is, MUN’s are addicting. Once you get the taste of them, you will feel that you will never have enough.
