BISMUN Student Conference - Instructions for Authors

  • Articles should be written either in the English Language or the Romanian Language and submitted in MS Word 2003 format (.doc extension). All articles written in Romanian must contain the title, abstract and keywords written in English as well as Romanian. Please be aware however that all presentations will be held in English, regardless of the language in which the paper is written.
  • Articles should not normally exceed 7,000-9,000 words in length and must have the following format:
      • paper format: A4
      • margins top, bottom , left, right – 2.5cm
      • font Times New Roman, size 12
      • line spacing – 1.5
  • The title of the paper should be written in Bold, font 16.
  • Chapter names should be written in Bold, font 14 and should be numbered consecutively.
  • Subchapter names should also be written in Bold, font 12 and should be numbered consecutively.
  • Tables, charts, drawings, images or photos accompanying the text should be numbered consecutively and should have headings suggestive for content.
  • Authors will only use Bold and Italic for underlining.
  • On the right side of the paper, just below the title, the author will write a brief autobiography, in which he will specify:
      • name and surname
      • position
      • current institutional affiliation, city, county, country
  • The author will write an Abstract of maximum 300 Words just below the autobiographical note. Slight variations between the Abstract already submited for the Conference and the Final Abstract is permitted, however there can be no major substantive changes between the two Abstracts. 
  • The author will create a list of 3 to 5 keywords suitable for indexing and abstracting services, which will be written below the Abstract.
  • Below are some guidelines for in-text citations, notes and references:
  • In-text:
  • 1 author: ex: (Mearsheimer, 2001) / (Mearsheimer, 2001, p.325)
  • 2 authors: ex: (Goldstein and Pevehouse, 2008, p.487)
  • 3 authors: 1st time mentioned (A,B and C, 2005), in further mention (A et all, 2005)          
  • List of references:
      • References are placed in alphabetical order of authors. Examples of correct forms of references for alphabetical style:
