Climate change has become one of the most important issues of today’s world. From an international relations and international law perspective, climate change makes the object of the most complex negotiations ever undertaken by states and peoples of the world. The outcome of these negotiations affects and shall affect all states of the world, regardless of their size, all businesses regardless of their field of activity and all people, wherever they live. Understanding the negotiations that are currently going on is crucial in realizing the dynamics of the current state of play in international relations. Such an understanding also provides for an insight into what the future may bring to humanity in terms of international cooperation.
The purpose of this seminar is twofold. While it intends to provide a platform for discussing the evolution and latest developments of the climate change issues in an international relations context, it will also try to describe the mechanisms involved in the most complex process of negotiations ever seen.
